1. Structure:
ATV stands for All-Terrain Vehicle, commonly known as a “dune buggy.” Typically open-top, it features either two-wheel or four-wheel drive. The vehicle is simple and practical with excellent off-road capabilities. Its key difference from a UTV lies in its fully open structure, motorcycle engine, and motorcycle-style handlebars. Many components are interchangeable with motorcycles, leading some to refer to it as a “four-wheeled motorcycle.”
2. Safety Performance:
ATVs lack roll cages, resulting in lower safety standards. UTVs, derived from ATVs, resemble automobiles more closely. Controlled via steering wheels, throttles, and pedals—with both 4WD and 2WD options—they deliver a driving experience closer to that of off-road vehicles. Additionally, UTVs incorporate safety features like roll cages and seat belts, positioning them as upgraded versions of ATVs.
